New Teacher: Mary
We are proud to welcome Mary as a teacher at TriBalance! Mary was an avid runner who experienced several running and stress injuries, and she “started doing yoga because I couldn’t do anything else!” After a marathon in 2009, she could barely walk, so she limped into a yoga class in TriBalance. She found it very challenging to adjust to the heat and the physical postures, and she thought, “These people are insane!” However, once Mary is determined to do something, nothing deters her. After a week, she adjusted to the heat and breathed comfortably in class. “Then I started to enjoy, not just the stretch, but feeling calm and peace after abusing my body for so long. It was nice to have a workout without punishment or pain.”
Mary has just graduated from the TriBalance Teacher Training Program. “I really wanted to share what I found and love with others,” she said. She is passionate about helping runners, and excited to share yoga with athletes and non-athletes alike.
Yoga has brought Mary peace with imperfection. “It’s helped me see alternatives,” she said. “I was very Type A, a black-and-white thinker. Now I’m not killing myself to be perfect, and when you’re okay with who you are and where you’re going, you’re ok being a work in progress.” She notes this as her biggest change since she embraced yoga. “The way I interact is different – with my husband, my mother, whoever. I can take a step back, not just jump to the first emotion. When you’re kinder with yourself, you can be kinder to other people.”
Mary will teach Dynamic Yin on Fridays at 6 am.

Yoga Workshop with Beth
Yin Yoga
Saturday June 2nd
1-4pm
$25
Unheated
All level
Yin Yoga is the ultimate in relaxation. It balances a lifestyle of vigorous movement with stillness, calming your nervous system. It is also beneficial for those who work at a desk, as Yin Yoga helps you sit comfortably for longer periods of time. This class will focus on long holds in a relaxed state to gently traction the bones of the legs, hips, and spine. Long holds of floor postures with relaxed muscles will restore elasticity to your fascia, ligaments, and tendons, restoring your joints to optimum health. No preregistration is required.
New Class: Mysore Yoga with Greg
Sundays 9-10:45am
Starting Sunday June 3
Unheated
All level
The Mysore Style of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is named after the city in India where the late Sri K. Pahttabhi Jois started this style of asana. New students begin the practice by learning the sun salutations and a few of the initial standing postures. As you begin to integrate the sequence into your memory and feel a sense of ease in the postures, we add additional poses. All students begin with the primary series, “yoga chikitsa,” which means yoga therapy. This practice heals and strengthens the body, preparing it for a deeper physical and meditative practice. Because the Mysore Style is taught in an individualistic manner, adjustments and modifications will help you progress in the safest and most appropriate way.
Yoga Workshop with Becki
Arm Balances
Friday June 15th
6-8 pm
Unheated
All level
Take the fear out of arm balances – learn to do them safely, using leverage and your core! Arm balances build more than arm strength. They build abdominal strength, spinal flexibility, core balance, and mental discipline. This will benefit your yoga practice now, and lay the foundation for more strength and independence later in life. These workshops are the same price as regular TriBalance classes. No preregistration is necessary.
Yoga and Magic Parties for Kids!
What better gift can you give to children than health, fun, and a sense of wonder? Have your next special kids' event at TriBalance Center, where they will enjoy a yoga class and a magic show. We love birthday parties, end-of-the-school-year parties, confirmation, just-for-fun parties, and more!
Parties are 90 minutes at the TriBalance Center. Send your inquiries with estimated number of guests, approximate age group of guests, and ideal date and time to mike@tribalance.com or call Mike at 630-965-3517.
